Brief Transit for flute and trumpet (2019)
Screamocity was a short-lived duo featuring myself and my then-colleague, Fred Green, a trumpeter and crazy-idea enthusiast. Our first commission was Brief Transit, a blues and funk inspired duo for flute and trumpet.
The pairing shouldn't work, but we had a great time doing it anyway - in large part thanks to Nicole's judicious use of texture and register.
Brief Transit was premiered at the FNMC New Music Festival, and has since been revised in a clarinet and trumpet version.
